(Neo)lithische Versorgungsketten und Vertiebsnetze im adriatischen und zentralen Mittelmeerraum – ein systemischer Ansatz
Obsidian is an evident, albeit complex tracer of supra-regional networks in the Neolithic and Copper Age, and so is flint, with the advantage that it is ubiquitous and multifunctional. The Gargano flint deposits and mines have been a focus of interest for many years, both on the Italian mainland and in the Adriatic. A series of technological and socio-economic questions arise in these contexts, relating to economic settings of production, working traditions, and formats of distribution (i.e. blanks, preforms, tools...). The long-term objective of such an approach is a systemic understanding of raw material circulation, to which we contribute elements of research on selected producer and consumer sites.
