Students

Each year students from the Archaeological Institute at the University of Zurich participate in the fieldworks season in Italy. Excavations take place from June to July on the Monte Iato (province of Palermo).

The Archaeological Institute of the University of Zurich covers the costs of travel, accommodation, and food.

How to apply

Senior students working towards an MA in Classical Archaeology at the University of Zurich are given preference, but applications from other Swiss and foreign universities will be considered. Given the small number of available places, acceptance of students from other Swiss and foreign universities cannot be guaranteed.

The languages spoken at the excavations are German and Italian. Although knowledge of Italian is not essential, it is of advantage.
